Frustrated by endless chewing?

If you've ever lost a shoe or a piece of furniture to your pet, you know the frustration of having a chewer. If your pet is a puppy, well, that's to be expected. Puppies have baby teeth and will need to cut adult teeth. Much like our babies, they'll want to put things in their mouth to aid that process along. Your best bet is to always have toys readily available to give them. Make sure to give them their toy so they know it is theirs, not just throw them on the floor. Throwing a bunch of toys on the floor makes everything on the floor a toy — that could include your shoes!

Molly
There are lots of great toys available for puppies.Freezing hydro toys can be great for teething puppies. Kong also has a line of Puppy Binkies and Puppy Squeaker toys that are ideal for chewers teething and also very bouncy and entertaining to boot!

For the adult chewers, well, some dogs are just prone to chewing. Research has shown this is not necessarily a breed thing, although in my experience, Labs tend to be aggressive chewers. Nylabone makes great bones that are indestructible. Literally. Make sure to get a size big enough for your dog not to swallow it. My dog, Molly is shown with a larger Nylabone than she actually needs, but we also have larger dogs than her, so that's what we have! She loves it! These bones are great for them to gnaw on and will last years — yes, years. Once again, I tend to gravitate toward the Kong toys. They are nearly indestructible. The black Kong is great for the most excessive chewer.

The middle of the road chewers have a plethora of toys available. Just make sure they have toys available that belong to them, or they will make your stuff their stuff!
